90 Days of Blessing Reports

"A woman with a disabled 27 year old child found SBC via an agency downtown.  She needed food and we had just received a surprise gift of $300 of food an hour earlier.  We normally get our food on Wednesdays.  She was beside herself with tears of joy in being able to feed her family.  The person that donated the food had seen me at the GDOP and remembered he had promised a donation last year." - Pastor Tracy McGee

"On Saturday June 18, 2011 I was standing in the cashier's line in Walmart on Garners Ferry Road; the line was slow; when I looked to find out the problem a young lady with a toddler was trying to pay for diapers, etc. the cashier kept running the card then saying something to the young lady; the Holy Spirit prompted me to go stand next to her to find out the problem and offer to pay. By this time the cashier returned the card to her and she tried once again while I was standing next to her and the result was card error. I then offered to pay she said no she would come back later; I told her it was no problem I was glad to pay for the packages for her. She allowed me to pay; the total was $13.88; she said thank you and gave me a big hug. The cashier was touched also there were other people in the line that saw this take place. I went back to my place in the line; when the cashier finished my transaction she said that was a nice thing you did; I said to God be the glory!!!" - Rev. Anna Scott Lane

"The Irmo Band of Brothers were able to assemble a group of men to help the Jann family as they prepare to re-locate to Greenville, SC. We arrived early on Saturday morning and repaired screens, painted, cut the yard, repaired & replaced some of the front banister, and helped with a plumbing problem. Jami posted on her Facebook page that she was so blessed to have had us come and help." - James Blake

"My friend, Joyce Stutts, who went to the GDOP had to have a heart check to see if she needed a stint as the doctors thought one of her arteries was blocked.  We prayed and she was anointed and when the test was done her arteries were found to be clear. We believe that her energy will improve and that she is completely healed." - Sandra Chestnut

"Our neighbor was involved in a motorcycle accident recently and suffered a spinal injury that will require month of rehab.  I told the family we were praying for them and asked if there was anything we(the Irmo Band of Brothers)  could do for them. The only request was for food.  The grandmother said she did believe that God sent me there. I presented the need to the group and we received over $300 in grocery store and gas cards to give to the family.  She was overwhelmed when I presented her with the gifts and some groceries that I bought for them.  I had a feeling of awe and thankfulness that we were able to help her.  We plan to follow up with this family and help them in more ways as they recover from their difficult time." - David Brown

"By helping out this year as an usher for the Global Day of Prayer in June, I just felt convicted to be disciplined in my search for ways to be a blessing to others. I have an acquaintance from the cardiac cath lab at one of my hospital accounts here in Columbia that I have known for several years. Her name is Ree. Tragedy struck Ree just after the new year as her home caught fire and is now uninhabitable. She has been living with her brother and caring for the grand kids also. After the fire Ree said she called her insurance company only to hear her policy had lapsed a few months back. To add insult to injury, she is 2 months behind on her house payment, due to all the other expenses of moving in with her brother, clothes for the kids, etc. I asked our IBB (Irmo Band Of Brothers) to put Ree on the prayer list and to also "Pass the Hat" so to speak for her. We raised approximately $500 dollars for her. She was so tickled when I presented her the funds we collected!! May God continue to bless us as we are able to be a blessing to others." - Mark Sims
