90 Days of Blessing
The purpose of the Global Day of Prayer is that God be glorified in Greater Columbia and throughout the world. 90 Days of Blessings begins at the conclusion of the Global Day of Prayer. The 90 Days of Blessing is to ensure that the spirit of Christ that permeates the Colonial Life Arena follows each believer out the door and is spread throughout Columbia and the surrounding areas, one community, one church and one person at a time. It is incumbent upon all of us, as individuals, groups or churches to participate in blessing believers and non-believers in ways big and small, so they can experience Christ’s love.
Why: The Global Day of Prayer is a glorious, Spirit-filled event blessing those in attendance. The purpose of 90 Days of Blessings is to “put feet to our faith” by taking the love of Christ out of the arena doors to those not in attendance. The 90 Days of Blessing begins a process of reaching out to believers and non-believers in our communities.
What: To inspire an attitude of blessing others “wrapped in the gospel”. The blessings can be one person at a time or a community.
Who: That every believer in the Greater Columbia Area would participate. Participation can come from individuals, small groups, Sunday school classes, a neighborhood organization or a church. One of the more effective groups began with two people within men’s fellowship. These two individuals inspired the group with the 90 Days of Blessing and it grew from there.
When: Why not start today, but especially beginning on the Global Day of Prayer, June 12, 2011.
Results: As one of last year's participants stated, "I thought I was blessing someone, but I was far more blessed than the recipient." We want to encourage everyone to share the 90 Days of Blessing with all Global Day of Prayer participants. In order to do so we will post your 90 Days of Blessing report(s) on the GDOP website and Facebook and email them to pastors in the Greater Columbia area. Our prayer is that your blessing reports, no matter how big or small, will prompt others into actions.
